Make A Movie In A Day

This is a great opportunity for everyone to experience the production cycle in just one super fast day. Participants will experience pitching, casting, shooting and editing a short film from scratch. Working this fast will force all of us to learn and rely on proven production tools and an exciting group energy. The night will end late with a cookout and outdoor screening of our movie!

Who should attend this workshop?

This is a must do workshop if you’ve never made a movie, been exposed to proven production methods or just want to get your creative juices flowing.

What will be covered?

In this one day workshop you’ll learn how a script break down is done, basic camera blocking techniques, how to quickly decide what scene coverage is needed and how cutaways can save your butt. We’ll learn how to make the most of existing light and how to quickly fill or accent that.  Everyone will be introduced to the same Sanford Meisner “OBJECTIVE” and “AS IF ” acting and directing principles taught to and used by Sydney Pollack, Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton and many others.  You’ll also experience the movie being edited by an experienced final cut pro editor as it’s happening.

Preparation Note

To provide you with a real filmmaking experience we’ll be using professional gear and experienced crew members ready to answer your questions and explain their craft. Participants will be encouraged to submit a script or a script outline to be used as our “One Day Movie”
